Labor Day, Transfer Window, Spiros

With it being Labor Day today the lads had the day off from class but not from practice as we started our recovery and preparation for this weekends road trip and games.  A tough weekend saw more bodies in the training room this morning but mostly for extra stretching and heat packs before the session which was a relief.

A very light session on the field which was mostly a jog to flush the body and then a warm up to get them ready for the strength and conditioning session.  For us coaches it was a chance to review the game video and discuss the positives and areas to work on this week.  Its was also a chance to get a full breakdown of any injuries we had picked up and what the game plan was to get these guys back as soon as possible.  With it being a 4 day road trip leaving Thursday theres plenty of planning and cross checking for the trip from transportation, accommodations and meals.  Hopefully we'll get a chance to spend a little time in NYC with the players on Saturday providing we get a good result on Friday in Long Island lol.

For me it was also a chance to follow the ongoing circus of the European transfer window as teams left it to the final day to buy and sell players before the window closes.   For the lads on the team and the clubs they support, the Welsh Wizard Gareth Bale was finally confirmed as a Real Madrid Player, Arsenal finally spend some cash to buy Mezut Ozil, Liverpool strengthened areas were they needed to some good business, Man Utd bought a player who I think may struggle playing for a big team, Newcastle looked to France again but only the onion man was available so things were quiet there, Chelsea got rid of 2 players on loan after doing their business early, Stoke signed Stephen Ireland on loan, I think that covers our locker room teams, apologies if I missed anyone.

No Blog tomorrow players have a day off.
